Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again stirred political tension after launching a scathing attack on current Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki during a heated public address. Gachagua, known for his bare–knuckle political style, dismissed Kindiki as incapable of matching him in any meaningful political contest.

In his trademark humorous but stinging tone, Gachagua questioned Kindiki’s influence and ability to mobilize voters, especially within the Mt. Kenya region.

“Sasa wewe soprano unaweza bishana na mimi kwa campaign kweli?” Gachagua mocked, taking a jab at Kindiki’s soft-spoken nature.

He went further, suggesting that even if Kindiki camped in Mbeere for an entire year—spending heavily and campaigning day and night—locals would still reject him.

“Hata ukilala hapa Mbeere mwaka mzima pekee yako na umwage pesa lorry sita, bado wananchi watakuangusha tu!”

Gachagua’s remarks have sparked widespread reactions, with his supporters praising his confidence while critics accuse him of fueling unnecessary divisions within Kenya Kwanza.

Political analysts note that tensions between the two leaders have been steadily rising as succession politics intensify. Gachagua’s open dismissal of Kindiki signals a deeper struggle for political relevance and influence, particularly as leaders position themselves for future elections.

As the war of words escalates, Kenyans are waiting to see whether Kindiki will respond—or choose to remain silent as the political heat continues to build.
