Deputy President William Ruto has by and by showed that he is a man of the people after he slept in a bushy village in Tharaka Nithi County on Tuesday night.
In contrast to other presidential competitors, who are normally carried by choppers and afterward to red carpets in hotels to Nairobi, Ruto who was campaigning in Meru County on Tuesday chose to sleep at a little known Bongo Hotel which is owned by Mr. Bongo
Bongo, who considers himself a hustler, is competing for the Maara Parliamentary seat.
The tycoon is looking to unseat long-serving legistrator, Kareke Mbiuki.
“The surprise guest lodging at the Mt Kenya Chogoria route gate new resort has excited Tharaka Nithi, as the joint remained little known, until today!” said journalist Caroline Riungu.
Ruto will end his 5-day tour of Mt Kenya East on Thursday prior to going to Western region where he will popularize his 2022 presidential bid.
