Gakii Mbui has voiced strong support for Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, describing him as the undisputed political kingpin of the Mt Kenya region.
In her remarks, Mbui stated that Kindiki firmly holds influence in the Mountain and that “nobody can take the mountain out of him.” She further praised him as a dependable and effective partner to President William Ruto.
According to Mbui, those allegedly eyeing the Deputy President’s seat should reconsider their ambitions and focus their energies elsewhere, insisting that Kindiki remains firmly in position.
Her comments come amid ongoing political realignments and speculation over leadership dynamics within the Mt Kenya region, often referred to as “the Mountain.” The region remains a crucial voting bloc in national elections, making declarations of loyalty and influence particularly significant as leaders position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The statement adds to growing public endorsements from leaders allied to the current administration, as internal and external political rivalries continue to shape the country’s political landscape.
