A family in Uasin Gishu County is pleading for urgent government intervention after disturbing photos of their kin, identified as Frenda Jelangat, surfaced online showing her tied to a bed in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports by Pwani FM, Frenda hails from Cheptiret Ward in Kesses Constituency and had travelled to Saudi Arabia in search of a better life to support her family. She reportedly secured a job as a househelp, but her dream quickly turned into a nightmare.
Barely a month after starting work, Frenda was allegedly denied her salary by her employer, a situation that left her struggling to survive in a foreign land. Sources indicate that the mistreatment took a toll on her mental health, pushing her into depression.
Months later, shocking images of Frenda tied to a bed began circulating online, sparking widespread concern among Kenyans and raising fears over her safety and well-being.
Her family says they lost contact with her weeks ago and have been unable to trace her since. They now fear the worst, urging the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to step in and rescue their daughter before it’s too late.
As the heartbreaking images continue to trend, Kenyans online have joined the family in demanding swift action and better protection for migrant workers facing abuse in foreign countries.
