Diamond Makes Sh113.5 Millioni per Month on YouTube!

The Bongo Flava singer from WCB Wasafi, Diamond Platnumz, earns over $48,000, equivalent to approximately TZS 113.5 million per month on YouTube!

According to the Africa Facts Zone website, Diamond generates this income from his YouTube channel, which has 7.73 million subscribers.

It is worth noting that Diamond is the most-watched artist on YouTube south of the Sahara Desert, accumulating over 2.17 billion views.

Apart from YouTube, Africa Facts Zone reports that Diamond also charges $100,000, approximately TZS 236.5 million, for endorsements and earns an additional $30,000, around TZS 70.9 million, per month from ambassadorial deals.

According to the same source, Diamond owns 11 houses, a hotel, radio and TV stations, and has land assets worth $771,000, approximately TZS 1.8 billion.

Since his music debut in 2009, Diamond has won several international awards such as Channel O, MTV, Soundcity, Headies, Afrima, Afrimma, Kora, AEA, EAUSA, the HiPipo Music Awards, and more. These achievements have made him the only Tanzanian artist to attain such success within a span of 10 years.

Diamond holds the record for winning seven Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards (KTMA) in one night in 2014, closely followed by Alikiba, who won five awards in 2015, equivalent to 20 percent of the total awards in 2011.

He became the first Tanzanian artist to be nominated for the BET Awards in the category of Best International Act and has been nominated three times (2014, 2016, and 2021), making him the only Tanzanian artist with multiple nominations.

In his 13-year music career in Bongo Flava, Diamond has won over 46 domestic and international awards, surpassing Lady Jaydee, who has won more than 35 awards.

During this period, Diamond Platnumz has released three albums: “Kamwambie” (2010), “Lala Salama” (2012), “A Boy From Tandale” (2018), and an Extended Playlist (EP) titled “First of All” (2022).
