Comedian Mulamwah: How I managed to hit Sh. 1.1 million by saving daily in 2024

Popular content creator David Oyando, better known as Mulamwah, recently shared an impressive milestone: he managed to save a total of Sh. 1,102,219 in 2024 by depositing a fixed amount of money daily.

The comedian revealed that he committed to saving Sh. 3,000 every day for the entire year, beginning on December 15, 2023. To prove his achievement, Mulamwah posted a screenshot of his Equity Bank account on social media, showcasing the amount saved.

“God is great – 3K per day savings challenge completed for 2024. Started on December 15 last year, just saving slowly. How much have you saved? If you haven’t, let’s start together for next year,” Mulamwah wrote in his post, encouraging his followers to embrace the power of consistent saving.

Through his post, Mulamwah highlighted the importance of cultivating a savings culture. His accomplishment serves as a testament to the fact that with dedication and discipline, remarkable results are achievable. In his case, his commitment over the past year led to a savings of over a million shillings.

Previously, Mulamwah has emphasized the significance of saving, often stating that “saving is life-saving” and encouraging his followers to save regardless of the amount. Whether it’s Sh. 20, Sh. 50, Sh. 100, or Sh. 1,000, he believes that every little bit counts and can eventually make a big difference. He even joked about adding a plot of land to his savings and questioned when it would be time to break open the savings boxes for those who joined him in this challenge last year.

In 2023, Mulamwah took on a similar savings challenge by saving Sh. 1,000 daily. In December of that year, he joined many Kenyans in opening their home savings boxes to reveal the total amount saved. Sitting outside a mud-thatched house, he broke open a small wooden box filled with banknotes ranging from Sh. 50 to Sh. 1,000. After counting the money with his partner Ruth K and a relative, the total came to Sh. 365,000.

“We are opening our 2023 savings. Last year, we agreed to start together and here we are. I took on the Sh. 1,000 daily challenge, and now I have Sh. 365,000,” Mulamwah shared proudly.
