Kenyan comedian-turned-philanthropist Eric Omondi has once again made a significant impact, raising more than Ksh. 480,000 for Florence Odhiambo, a mother residing in Mathare, whose landlord had removed her roof due to unpaid rent. The initial awareness of Florence Odhiambo’s predicament was brought to the forefront by Priscilla Waimani.
Shortly after learning about the situation, Eric Omondi promptly appealed to Kenyans to assist the struggling mother through his initiative, “Team Sisi Kwa Sisi.” On January 24, 2024, Omondi provided an update to his fans and followers, announcing the successful collection of a minimum of Sh480,000 for Florence.
“We are at 480K!!! TEAM SISI KWA SISI!!! Let’s continue; today, we are changing the life of this widow and her children forever!!! Keep sending to her number 0716492328 (NAME: FLORENCE ODHIAMBO) LET’S GOOO!!!,” Omondi shared.
Before initiating the online fundraiser, the comedian expressed their commitment to improving the woman’s situation. He emphasized that Florence Adhiambo had endured two days in the house without a roof, as the landlord had removed it, leaving her with no alternative shelter.
“What the enemy tries to use to destroy you is what God uses to uplift you!!! This widow’s roof was removed last Friday because she had not paid rent. She has stayed in that house with 2 children and one baby until today when @priscillawaimani discovered her this evening. You can imagine the rain over the weekend (the young one looks a bit sick). WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE HER LIFE TODAY!!! When the sun rises tomorrow, HER LIFE and that of her children will be different. This initiative aligns with Omondi’s concurrent efforts to construct two bridges in Kisii County through his ‘Sisi Kwa Sisi” initiative.
