Classic 105 FM presenter Mike Mondo is currently reflecting on his life and expressing a strong desire for positive changes. In a recent interview with Mpasho’s Kalondou Musyimi, Mondo outlined his goals for the year 2024, with marriage being at the top of his list.
Mondo, who is in a relationship with content creator Shiko Nguru, shared that despite the public attention surrounding their romance, he is focused on committing to a serious relationship and improving certain financial aspects of his life. Addressing public opinions on their relationship, Mondo stated, “One of the things that’s happening this year is I’m going to settle down. Number two, I’m trying to improve certain areas financially. I think I’ve been undercover for a lot of my career. Number three is to just be the best version of me.”
Furthermore, Mondo expressed his decision to no longer shy away from controversy, citing fatigue from trying to meet others’ expectations. He sees this phase of his life as an opportunity for personal growth and purpose. Reflecting on his age, he questioned certain behaviors, stating, “What am I doing at 42 running around, and why do I need to act youthful? Should I be mingling with younger individuals? It’s time; it’s not even about being unmarried. Settling down is a lot of things. You just calm down, make your life more serene, work on your craft, grow, and become more of an individual with meaning and purpose in life.”
Mondo also indicated a departure from his partying days, emphasizing the importance of achieving milestones. Addressing criticism regarding an Instagram video discussing their romance, he defended the practice of couples having open conversations, citing examples like Jay Z and Beyonce.
As for the possibility of a grand wedding this year, Mondo remained elusive, teasing a cryptic response: “Ah, digithia,” he coyly responded to the tough question. “Ah, relax first; let’s finish other matters, and once that is done, you will know… You think I’m afraid to tell you? You will know, trust me. But for now, let’s deal with whatever matters.”
The love story between Mike and Shiko Nguru began to blossom through email exchanges and culminated in a meeting during a work session. Shiko shared that she fell in love with Mike’s voice when he introduced himself, while Mike Mondo expressed admiration for Shiko’s motherhood skills.
