A bold university comrade confronted President William Ruto during his visit to Kakamega, warning him against ignoring the cries of ordinary citizens.
Addressing the Head of State directly, the comrade said: “Bwana President, if you don’t listen to the voters then in 2027 you might listen to the Returning Officers. Usituharibie appetite, ukicheza utaenda nyumbani. Kazi yako ni kutenga na sisi comrade tunakufa njaa.”
The remarks, laced with both political caution and frustration, drew murmurs from the crowd. The student leader accused the government of neglecting young people, claiming that the cost of living and unemployment are pushing comrades to the edge.
President Ruto, who has been touring the region to address development issues, did not immediately respond to the outburst but maintained that his administration is committed to delivering on its promises.
