Born Different : Meet Amina, A Woman Who Does not Have A Face.

We are all unique individuals, each born with our own set of characteristics and imperfections that make us perfect in our own way. Amongst us is Amina, a woman who faces an extraordinary circumstance – she was born without a face.

Amina, hailing from one of the native villages in Africa, is an otherwise normal human being, distinguished only by the absence of a facial structure. She came into the world with only a mouth to define her features, utilizing it for both sustenance and respiration.

Born in 1942, Amina has lived with this condition throughout her entire life. Despite numerous attempts by doctors to rectify her lack of a face, all efforts have proven futile. Consequently, Amina has had to accept her identity as a woman without a face.

Her unique condition subjected Amina to stigmatization during her youth, with people often mocking her and predicting that she would never find a husband. Against the odds, she did find a spouse, and together they had three children. Their separation was unrelated to Amina’s condition; instead, internal conflicts and unavoidable issues led to their parting ways.

The impact of Amina’s condition extends beyond her appearance. Her legs have been affected, impairing her walking ability. Despite seeking medical assistance, no hospital has been able to provide a solution, leaving her with no choice but to adapt to her condition.

Aman, a compassionate individual, has taken on the responsibility of caring for Amina. Additionally, support from abroad has contributed to Amina leading a relatively healthy life as she awaits the inevitable end. In the face of her unique challenges, Amina remains resilient, surrounded by care and assistance, navigating life with grace and patience.
