Alikula Pesa? Mustafa Reveals Why His Shop Remains Closed Yet Kenyans Funded Him To Start Over

In recent days, concerns have arisen regarding the whereabouts of rapper Mustafa, as some Kenyans noticed that his shop in Chokaa, specializing in clothing and sneakers, had remained closed for an extended period. It was disheartening for many, as they had previously rallied together to raise funds to support the establishment of his shop.

Responding to the growing unease, Mustafa came forward to provide an explanation, firmly refuting any claims that his shop had been permanently shuttered. In an interview with Mungai Eve Media, he shed light on the circumstances that had led to the temporary closure of the shop.

Mustafa stated, “It’s true the shop has been closed periodically, but it’s not because we’ve permanently shut it down. Various factors have been at play. I have been deeply involved in taking care of my mother, and we’ve been awaiting a pediscan after radiotherapy. This has significantly affected my presence at the shop. Additionally, my musical commitments and numerous shows have kept me occupied, and I haven’t found anyone I can trust to manage the shop in my absence until I return.”

Furthermore, Mustafa acknowledged that many Kenyans continued to offer financial support even months after he gained notoriety for working in construction to assist his ailing mother. He shared a positive update on his mother’s cancer recovery journey, stating that she was making progress and engaging in exercises to regain her physical strength. As her caregiver, Mustafa had received training on how to support a cancer patient, ensuring her well-being.

He added, “She has started doing zumba exercises. We’ve undergone around 23 sessions of radiotherapy, and we’re now scheduled for a full-body pediscan to determine if the cancer has been eradicated or if a small portion remains.”

Mustafa first gained widespread attention in May of this year when a video of him working in construction went viral. During an interview at the time, he revealed that he had kept his personal struggles under wraps for nearly a year. In response, the people of Kenya overwhelmingly came together, contributing both financially and offering support to him and his fellow musicians in the industry.
