Kenyan comedian and activist Eric Omondi has called on members of the public to gather at Uhuru Park on Saturday, March 14, for a citywide cleaning exercise aimed at improving the cleanliness of Nairobi.
Omondi urged Kenyans, especially Nairobi residents, to turn up in large numbers and participate in the initiative, which he says is meant to promote civic responsibility and environmental care. The exercise will focus on collecting litter and helping restore the city’s cleanliness in key public spaces.
The comedian has in recent years used his public platform to mobilize citizens around social issues, and the planned clean-up is part of his broader push to encourage young people to take part in community-driven activities.
Supporters of the initiative have praised the idea, saying it could inspire more residents to take responsibility for keeping the city clean, while also raising awareness about proper waste disposal and environmental conservation.
