Dadaab MP Farah Maalim has launched a scathing attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta, terming his 10-year tenure as one of the most damaging periods in Kenya’s leadership history.
In his remarks, Maalim claimed that Uhuru lacked clear direction in governance and accused his administration of focusing more on political witch-hunts than meaningful development. He further alleged that the former president prioritized expanding personal and family business interests during his time in office.
Maalim’s comments have reignited debate about Uhuru’s legacy, particularly on issues of economic management, public debt, and large-scale infrastructure projects undertaken during his tenure.
While critics of the former president echo similar concerns, his supporters argue that his administration delivered major projects, including roads, rail infrastructure, and energy expansion, which they say transformed key sectors of the economy.
The sharp exchange highlights the continuing political realignments and battles over legacy as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
