Starehe Member of Parliament Amos Mwago has strongly criticized President William Ruto, referencing past political violence in Kenya and warning against any attempts at authoritarian leadership.
In a public statement, Mwago accused Ruto of being responsible for violence during the 2007 church-related clashes and cautioned that similar behavior would not be tolerated today.
“Ruto uliuwa watoto na wamama kwa kanisa 2007, sasa unataka kurudia hiyo tabia. Utajua hii ni Kenya, sio Uganda. Sisi hatuwezi support muuwaji ambaye anataka kuwa dictator,” Mwago said.
The MP’s comments have sparked debate among political analysts and citizens, with some praising his bold stance on accountability and governance, while others argue that such statements could heighten political tensions.
Mwago emphasized the importance of safeguarding democratic values and protecting citizens from any form of abuse of power, urging political leaders to prioritize peace and unity in the country.
