Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made explosive claims, alleging that President William Ruto wants him dead and that his only mistake was “telling Kenyans the truth.”
Speaking during a public address, Gachagua claimed that his life is in danger and questioned whether state security agencies are committed to protecting him.
“If the police will not protect me, I will be forced to look for other means to protect my life,” he stated.
The remarks have sent shockwaves across the political landscape, intensifying tensions between the two leaders. Supporters of Gachagua say his concerns should be taken seriously and call for enhanced security measures, while critics argue that such statements could further heighten political anxiety in the country.
Security matters involving senior political figures remain highly sensitive, and no official response had been issued at the time of reporting.
The allegations are likely to fuel further debate about political rivalry, personal safety, and the state of national leadership.
