Political activist and vocal commentator Omosh One Hour has launched a scathing attack on ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of disloyalty to the Orange Democratic Movement. In his strongly worded statement, Omosh claimed that although Sifuna remains physically within ODM, his loyalty, thinking, and spirit lie elsewhere.
According to Omosh, Sifuna was politically nurtured and elevated by ODM leader Raila Odinga, whom he referred to as “Baba.” He argued that despite this support, Sifuna has now turned against the party’s core values and leadership, branding him a traitor. The remarks have intensified debate within ODM, which has recently faced internal disagreements and public exchanges among its leaders and supporters.
The accusation touches on a sensitive issue within Kenyan politics—party loyalty versus personal political ambition. Omosh’s comments reflect the frustration of some ODM supporters who feel that certain leaders are drifting away from the party’s original mission while still holding influential positions within it. Such sentiments suggest growing unease among the grassroots about internal cohesion.
Edwin Sifuna, known for his outspoken nature and reformist stance, has previously defended his positions as being driven by principle rather than betrayal. However, the latest attack adds to mounting pressure on the ODM leadership to address internal divisions and clarify the party’s direction.
As political temperatures rise, statements like these highlight the challenges ODM faces in maintaining unity amid shifting alliances and differing viewpoints. Whether this will lead to reconciliation, disciplinary action, or deeper rifts remains uncertain, but it underscores the intensity of Kenya’s evolving political landscape.
