‎Meet Makueni Woman Whose Hands Were Chopped Off By her Husband After Being Unable To get children

‎Meet Purity Muthoki, a woman from Makueni County whose search for love, stability, and a better life ended in a brutal act of domestic violence that has shocked many people.

‎Purity is a single mother of one boy who left her rural home after burying her mother.

‎With no one to rely on and a child to support, she travelled to Nairobi in search of employment and a fresh start.

‎After some time, Purity managed to secure a job at one of the hotels in Nairobi.

‎While working there, she met a regular customer who later became her romantic partner.

‎Their relationship grew, and the two eventually decided to get married.

‎At the time, Purity believed she had finally found happiness and security. However, she did not know that her marriage would soon turn into a nightmare.

‎When her husband took her to his rural home to introduce her as his wife, Purity was confronted by his former wife.

‎The ex-wife reportedly told her that she had stayed in the marriage for five years without getting a child and warned her that if she had failed to live with the man, Purity would also struggle.

‎Despite the warning, Purity returned to Nairobi with her husband and focused on building their marriage.

‎To help her earn a living, the husband set her up with a small food kiosk business.

‎However, problems began when Purity suggested that they visit a hospital to check their health.

‎She questioned why his former wife, who had left without a child, later had a child in another marriage, while she herself already had a child.

‎This discussion angered her husband and marked the beginning of repeated abuse.

‎The violence escalated when the husband allegedly assaulted Purity in front of her customers, accusing her of attracting too many men to the business.

‎Fearing for her safety, she closed the kiosk and chose to stay at home.

‎However, the abuse did not stop. It continued within the home, leaving Purity emotionally and physically drained.

‎Eventually, Purity’s young son begged her to take him back to his grandfather’s home, saying he could no longer endure the violent environment.

‎Purity agreed and left the marriage, determined not to return. When the husband later followed her and asked her to come back, she refused.

‎Two months later, the husband reportedly contacted Purity’s father and said he was coming to take his wife home.

‎He arrived in the area in the evening and took his father-in-law to a nearby club, where he bought him alcohol until late at night.

‎After returning home, Purity was informed that her husband wanted to take her away, but she declined once again.

‎According to reports, the husband then gave the drunk father money to buy more alcohol, allowing him access to Purity’s bedroom.

‎He allegedly pulled out a panga and attacked her, chopping off her fingers and seriously injuring her arms and head.

‎Villagers responded to her screams, and the suspect later surrendered, allegedly admitting he had gone there to finish his wife for abandoning him.
