“I have agreed to the request, and I have already spoken with Winnie Odinga, I will lead delegation of elders, church leaders, and Mt Kenya leaders to Bondo.”-Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he is preparing for a major political engagement in December, saying he will lead a high-profile delegation from the Mt Kenya region to Bondo.

Speaking during a recent event, Gachagua confirmed that he had already communicated with Winnie Odinga, the daughter of ODM leader Raila Odinga, regarding the planned visit.

According to Gachagua, the meeting was initiated after he received a request for dialogue, and he has agreed to it. However, he noted that he must first finalize matters related to the Mbeere by-election before making the trip.

“I have agreed to the request, and I have already spoken with Winnie Odinga, Raila Odinga’s daughter. I informed her that I need to conclude issues surrounding the Mbeere by-election, and afterward, in the first week of December, I will lead a major delegation of elders, church leaders, and Mt Kenya leaders to Bondo,” Gachagua stated.

The planned visit is expected to draw significant attention, especially considering the political dynamics between Mt Kenya and Nyanza region leaders. Analysts say the trip could signal a new chapter of dialogue and reconciliation ahead of the 2027 election season.

Political observers are now waiting to see what outcomes will emerge from the December engagement and whether it could influence future alliances and national political conversations.
