Kisii Governor Simba Arati has once again sparked debate after boldly declaring his loyalty to ODM leader Raila Odinga and his readiness to keep visiting State House as long as it benefits his people.
Speaking at a public event, Arati emphasized that his political moves are not driven by personal interest but by the desire to secure resources for his county. He bluntly stated: “I will continue going to the State House if there is more money… so long as our father Raila Odinga is in Government.”
His remarks come at a time when questions have been raised about the alignment of ODM governors with the national government, especially following recent political negotiations that placed Raila in a key government role.
Arati defended his stance, noting that development and service delivery must take priority over political rivalries. According to him, Kisii residents deserve a share of government resources, and he will not shy away from pursuing opportunities that guarantee growth for his county.
The statement has since stirred mixed reactions. Supporters hailed him as a bold leader committed to development, while critics accused him of political opportunism.
Still, Arati remains firm in his conviction, insisting that loyalty to Raila and strategic engagement with the government is the surest way to secure prosperity for Kisii.
