” My Parents Wasted Money To Take Me To School & study Law, Hio Degree Hainisaidii” Teacher Kilunda

Teddy Kitana, popularly known as Teacher Kilunda from the once-popular Tahidi High series that aired on Citizen TV, has opened up about his academic background, revealing that he holds a degree in law. However, despite the qualification, he has never practiced law — and has no intentions of doing so.

Speaking during an interview with TV47, Kilunda candidly shared that he feels his parents’ investment in his legal education went to waste, as he has never used the degree in any professional capacity.

“To be honest, I’ve never used my law degree. I feel like my parents spent their money for nothing,” he said.

According to Kilunda, what truly transformed his life was his passion and talent for acting. After completing his law studies, he spent some time abroad before returning to Kenya to fully pursue his acting career. He became a household name through his role in Tahidi High and remained active in the industry until he decided to step back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kilunda also expressed his disdain for the legal profession, stating that one of the reasons he never pursued it was due to the dishonesty he believes is rampant among lawyers.

“I hate the law profession. Many lawyers lie — they can defend someone knowing full well the person is guilty. That’s something I could never live with,” he said.

Despite holding a prestigious degree, Kilunda found his true calling on the screen — and it’s a path he doesn’t regret choosing.
