Kindiki Dismisses Gachagua’s New Party, Calls Him a “Tribal King”

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed former DP Rigathi Gachagua’s move to launch a new political party, branding him a “tribal king” with no national agenda.

Kindiki criticized Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), accusing it of promoting tribal politics. Speaking in Kigumo, Murang’a County, Kindiki said leaders should focus on development, not division.

“We also do politics, but we refuse to divide Kenyans by tribe,” said Kindiki.

He urged leaders to promote unity and support President William Ruto’s development agenda. Kindiki also took a swipe at Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, asking him to be wise and respectful when speaking in his wife’s home area. Wamumbi is married to Murang’a Woman Rep Betty Maina.

Kindiki further said Gachagua’s allies have neglected service delivery and embraced empty politics. He donated KSh 5 million, including KSh 3 million from President Ruto, to support local projects.

Maragua MP Mary Wa Maua, who left Gachagua’s camp, accused her former allies of hypocrisy. But Senator Joe Nyutu defended Gachagua’s team, saying both camps are free to campaign how they wish.
