Former Murang’a County Woman Representative, Sabina Chege, has shared a touching story about her humble beginnings, revealing that she once worked as a house help in Kayole, Nairobi.
In an interview with Kameme FM, Sabina disclosed that after completing her high school education at Mugoiri Girls, she moved to Nairobi in search of employment opportunities.
Upon arriving in the city, she secured a job as a domestic worker in Kayole. Inspired by the family’s television set, and recalling her involvement in the drama club during high school, Sabina developed a passion for acting.
Determined to pursue this dream, she attended auditions at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), where she successfully landed a role in the popular TV show Tausi. Shortly after her TV debut, Sabina received an admission letter from the University of Nairobi.
Her journey took another turn when she applied for a job at Kameme FM, which was a newly established radio station at the time. Thanks to her unwavering faith in God and dedication, she secured a position as the host of a late-night show titled Therera, meaning “Flow.”
Over the years, Sabina has been instrumental in nurturing the careers of notable media personalities, including Evangelist Lucy Wa Ngunjiri, Muthoni Wa Kirumba, Kihenjo, and Muthee Kiengei, among others.
Currently, Sabina is a staunch supporter of Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga in his bid to lead the nation ahead of the upcoming August elections.
