Mariam Nabatanzi, a Ugandan woman, recently shared her story with Afrimax TV, revealing that she is the mother of 44 children, all belonging to one man who abandoned her to care for them alone. Despite the challenges of raising such a large family by herself, she is known as “Mother Uganda” or “Mother Africa.”
Nabatanzi’s parents had arranged for her to marry a 57-year-old man when she was very young. She had her first child at the age of 13 and went on to give birth 15 times. Out of those 15 pregnancies, she had five sets of quadruplets and five sets of twins (one set of which did not survive).
While Nabatanzi had originally only wanted to have seven children, she is still open to having more if she meets the right man. Despite the incredible nature of her story, she remains hopeful about her future and the possibility of finding love again.
