A somber mood engulfed Ntulele in Narok County after the lifeless body of a 22-year-old man, Jacob Mungai, was discovered in a thicket in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.
Reports indicate that Mungai’s decision to end his life was allegedly triggered by a family disagreement over his plans to marry a neighbor. The family is said to have opposed the union, leading to tension in the household.
In protest, Mungai reportedly left home after the family stopped him from bringing the woman into their home. When he failed to return, his family grew concerned and launched a search, only to find his lifeless body in the nearby thicket.
Further investigations revealed that this was not the first time the young man had attempted to take his own life, as family members had previously intervened to stop him.
Officers from the local police station processed the scene and transferred the body to the morgue, where it awaits an autopsy. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
In light of this tragedy, young people are urged to seek support and speak openly about their challenges. Mental health professionals emphasize the importance of addressing emotional struggles to prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.
