A family in Kirinyaga County has been devastated after a mother discovered her husband in an inappropriate relationship with their eldest daughter.
The mother of four had previously suffered abuse from her husband while living in Tanzania and fled to Kenya with her children to escape the mistreatment. After promising to change, the husband eventually tracked her down and persuaded her to reconcile. The family then settled in Nairobi, where he worked as a boda boda rider, and she took on laundry jobs to provide for the household.
Tensions escalated in the home as the eldest daughter grew increasingly defiant, with the husband frequently siding with her and undermining attempts at discipline. These dynamics further strained the marriage and created an environment of conflict.
The situation reached a shocking climax when the mother returned home unexpectedly and found her husband partially undressed with their daughter. Seeking help, she approached the landlord, but her husband insisted that he preferred to stay with the daughter rather than her. The confrontation ended with the mother being evicted along with her two younger children while she was pregnant, leaving the eldest behind with the father.
She later relocated to Naivasha, striving to rebuild her life and care for her remaining children. Despite the betrayal, she has forgiven her daughter but maintains distance to protect her other children. She now hopes to start a small business and secure financial support to sustain her family and regain stability.
