Shock as Kiambu man stabs friend to death after argument over bodaboda fare

Police in Kiambu have put into custody a murder who purportedly cut his friend on the neck, killing him on the spot.

Daniel Waithera,25, is said to have killed Micheal Mukami, 21, after an argument.

“The suspect identified as Daniel Waithera killed his friend Michael Mukami after an argument over who was to pay for fare after a motorbike ride,” DCI said.

As per the motorbike rider Stephen Mwango, he had picked the two at around 5:30am, at Gikambura market in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.

Nonetheless, upon arrival in Muthangari, the two travelers began arguing on who was to pay for the ride.

The then ran to his house and returned with a knife. In a blink, he slit the deceased on the left side of the neck and took off, leaving him for dead.

shocked with the unfurling, Mwango immediately reported the case to Kikuyu police station, who promptly dispatched a manhunt for the suspect.

“With the assistance of members of the public, the suspect was finally cornered and arrested hours later. The murder weapon, a crucial exhibit in the murder, was also recovered,” DCI said.
