School Closed After finding Pupil’s Decomposing Body In Classroom Ceiling

Trizah, a student enrolled at an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom, was discovered concealed within the ceiling. The incident unfolded when students, recently returning for their first-term studies, were alarmed by a pervasive odor emanating from the ceiling aperture.

Concerned about the foul smell, the students approached their teachers, speculating that it might be the result of a rodent infestation. To the astonishment of the school watchman, the hidden recesses of the ceiling revealed the lifeless body of Trizah, a pupil at the school.

Jackson Muganda, a parent at the school, disclosed that Trizah had gone missing immediately after completing the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA). According to sources speaking to a local media outlet, the girl, residing with her grandparents near the Waitaluk area in close proximity to the school, had vanished after being disciplined for allegedly stealing KSh 1,000 from her grandmother.

As recounted by Wanyonyi, further repercussions befell Trizah when her grandmother, Jackline Nyongesa, assigned her to fetch water. However, upon her return, Trizah presented a container of water permeated with the scent of acaricide. The motive behind her actions remains unclear, leaving neighbors to speculate whether she intended self-harm with the acaricide or sought to harm her grandmother by offering the contaminated water.

The school headteacher, Douglas Amadi, confirmed the tragic incident and revealed that the deceased was 14 years old. Amadi expressed his disbelief that the parents and guardians of the missing girl were aware of her disappearance but neglected to report the matter to the police. Subsequently, he sought guidance from the Ministry of Education and collaborated with the police to address the situation.
