Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has issued fresh demands to President William Ruto, stating that ODM’s support in the 2027 General Election will come at a price. Speaking candidly, Junet said that if President Ruto wants backing from the Orange Democratic Movement, there must be a restructuring of the government to accommodate the party.
According to Junet, ODM expects an increase in Cabinet representation within the current administration. He further revealed that the party is also eyeing the powerful position of Deputy President as part of any future political arrangement.
Junet’s remarks reinforce ODM’s hardline stance that political support is transactional and must reflect the interests of its leadership and supporters. His comments have reignited debate over power-sharing, coalition politics, and the shape of alliances ahead of the 2027 polls.
