Revealed: What Really Happened in Thika Road Accident That Led to Super Metro Bus Being Burnt!

Public transport giant Super Metro has spoken out after one of its buses was torched along Thika Road following a fatal accident on Monday, September 1.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the company confirmed the accident involved its bus, registration number KCZ 358N, near Juja. According to Super Metro, the bus was travelling downhill when a tuk-tuk suddenly attempted to change lanes. At the same moment, a speeding motorbike rider tried to overtake, swerved to avoid the tuk-tuk, hit a pavement, and fell. Tragically, the rider was run over by the bus and died at the scene.

The company expressed deep regret over the loss of life and conveyed condolences to the rider’s family. It also assured the public that it is fully cooperating with Juja Police Station, which is investigating the incident.

Tension flared soon after the accident as enraged locals set the bus ablaze, sending thick smoke billowing into the sky. Images shared online showed the vehicle completely engulfed in flames, leaving only its charred shell behind.

Super Metro emphasized its ongoing commitment to road safety and compliance with transport regulations, adding that the accident was an unfortunate tragedy.

This is not the first time the company has faced a major road incident in Juja. Back in June, one of its buses was involved in a collision with a swerving lorry. Although no lives were lost then, two passengers sustained injuries.

Super Metro reassured passengers that safety remains its top priority, pledging to work with authorities to ensure thorough investigations and prevent future tragedies.
