Martin Kamotho, popularly known as Githeri Man, has opened up about the struggles he continues to face years after his rise to fame. Tired of walking long distances and relying on public transport, he is now appealing to Kenyans for help to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning a car.
Githeri Man became a household name during the 2017 elections, a moment that brought him immense recognition and the promise of support from several companies. He was even promised a car, a promise that, unfortunately, was never fulfilled. Despite receiving recognition from former President Uhuru Kenyatta, his life has not changed significantly.
Today, Kamotho is living on the streets of Kayole and is calling on fellow Kenyans to support him. “My dream has always been to own a car before I die,” he says. “I am now tired of walking and using public transport. I hope Kenyans can come together, raise funds, and help me get a brand-new car.”
In addition to a car, Githeri Man also dreams of having a proper home built on his land in Ngong. He urges Kenyans to unite and help him achieve both of these dreams, hoping that the generosity of the public can transform his life just as his fame once captured the nation’s attention.
