In spite of his prominent status in the entertainment industry, Stivo Simple Boy, a renowned musical sensation from Kenya, has been transparent about the reasons behind his financial hardships.
In an interview with a local television station, the artist expressed his decision to forego luxurious indulgences in order to build a house for his mother and provide her with a well.
Stivo Simple Boy emphasized the significance of prioritizing essential needs over extravagances.
“There are two choices, buying land or buying a car? A car is quite costly, so I chose to construct a home for my mother in the countryside and dig a well for her,” he shared.
Furthermore, Stivo candidly acknowledged that his past timidity and lack of understanding contributed to his financial challenges.
He admitted to making the mistake of signing contracts without comprehending their implications, leading to unfavorable consequences.
“The contracts I signed without fully grasping them turned out to be detrimental; signing contracts is akin to binding oneself,” he confessed.
The artist also disclosed his shift in management approach. He has decided not to have professional management at the moment, opting to be managed by his friends, referred to as the ‘Stivo team.’
In a surprising revelation, Stivo Simple Boy admitted to engaging in relationships for the purpose of gaining publicity.
He admitted that some of the women he was seen with were primarily for attention.
“Many of the women you saw me with were merely for publicity stunts,” he confessed.
Stivo Simple Boy’s financial struggles gained significant attention on social media when his spouse publicly accused his management of withholding funds and subjecting them to poverty.
In an interview, she exposed the management for allegedly mismanaging funds and causing financial difficulties.
“His manager is causing him stress, while he’s struggling. When we were with him, things were barely held together, and now he’s stressed about his manager, his money, and his accounts. He doesn’t even handle his own money; the manager handles everything,” Grace revealed.
She also mentioned that Stivo was financially strained and didn’t even have a small amount in his mobile money account.
“Now, if you were to check his balance on his phone, you wouldn’t even find ten shillings. Even if I ask him to send me fifty shillings, he says he doesn’t have it, and if I inquire about his money, he says his manager has it,” she explained.
Grace also disclosed the difficulties they faced in accessing food, with some nights ending in hunger.
“At times, there’s food, and at times, there isn’t. But where he is, I don’t think he’ll get help,” she said.
Grace pointed out that Stivo’s gentle and timid nature hindered him from advocating for himself.
“There are challenges in the house, which is why I can say he’s going through tough times and can’t speak up. His problem is that he’s shy and very timid; he can’t speak up. I won’t stand by and watch my husband struggle while he’s too timid to speak up. I’ll say what needs to be said,” she expressed.
She also revealed that she had no knowledge of Stivo earning from his YouTube channel.
“I don’t even know if he gets paid for his YouTube channel. If you were to ask him how much YouTube pays, he wouldn’t know, he has no idea. Money matters, well, he’s a gentle young man, he doesn’t even know. As long as he’s got food, that’s enough,” she naively said.
