Museveni dismisses Bobi Wine-“I really wonder sometimes when I see Bobi Wine campaigning, he knows very well that he cannot defeat me, . Ugandans love me more than Mangoes and Bananas.”

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has once again taken a swipe at opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, questioning his chances of ever winning an election against him.

Speaking during a public address, Museveni said he is often amused when he sees Bobi Wine campaigning across the country, insisting that the musician-turned-politician is fully aware he cannot defeat him at the ballot.

“I really wonder sometimes when I see Bobi Wine campaigning,” Museveni said. “He knows very well that he cannot defeat me, but he keeps running up and down thinking Ugandans will vote for him. Ugandans love me more than mangoes and bananas.”

Museveni’s comments have reignited debate within Uganda’s political circles, with supporters of the ruling party praising his confidence while opposition supporters accuse him of undermining democratic competition.

Bobi Wine, who has been Museveni’s strongest challenger in recent years, continues to maintain that Ugandans are yearning for change and that no amount of ridicule will stop his political movement.
