Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya recently disclosed his inclination towards polygamous marriage, expressing his desire for three wives despite having turned down numerous marriage proposals from women.
Remaining single for the time being, Salasya openly shared his intention to embrace a polygamous lifestyle in the future, without specifying the exact number of children he envisions having.
“Marriage is a complex matter. I intend to pursue a polygamous arrangement, with three wives. When the time comes, the first wife should be understanding, while the second should be content with domestic life and refrain from prying into my personal affairs, including my phone,” he elaborated.
Reflecting on a past incident where a former partner became upset and damaged his phone after discovering messages she found displeasing, Salasya emphasized the importance of finding a partner who respects his privacy and allows him space to conduct his affairs without interference.
Addressing his preferences in a partner, Salasya emphasized the necessity of non-violence, stating a preference for a partner who addresses grievances with calmness rather than resorting to physical or verbal abuse. Additionally, he expressed a desire for a partner who takes pleasure in domestic life, enjoying the preparation of traditional dishes such as mrere, kunde, kales, black nightshade, and fish.
Salasya’s views on marriage were recently highlighted when Lavyn Shantell, a woman, publicly proposed to him. However, he declined the proposal, citing uncertainty about his compatibility with her and his ability to meet her expectations. Nevertheless, Salasya extended an invitation for a conversation over tea in Kakamega, where he sought to understand her intentions further regarding a potential relationship with him.
