Millionaire to beggar: Dorcus Kagendo story, in which she formerly was wealthy but is now penniless and begging for food.

Dorcus Kagendo’s story is one of resilience, heartbreak, and the cruel unpredictability of life. Once a successful career woman living in financial comfort, she is now battling severe illness and poverty.

Originally from Kenya’s Central Province, Kagendo was a bright and ambitious young woman who secured jobs with NGOs and reputable companies soon after completing her education. She quickly rose through the ranks, earning a good salary that allowed her to buy two cars, invest in real estate, and run successful business ventures.

Even after being abandoned by her child’s father, Kagendo managed to raise her child without financial struggle. Her life seemed destined for greater success when she secured a lucrative job opportunity in Saudi Arabia, which promised higher pay than she had ever earned.

But her dreams were shattered when she fell gravely ill shortly after arriving in Saudi Arabia. She was diagnosed with kidney failure and cancer, forcing her to return home for treatment. To meet mounting medical expenses, Kagendo sold all her possessions, including her cars and property, leaving her destitute.

Her condition worsened, and now in stage four of her illness, she can no longer support herself. Kagendo has resorted to pleading with well-wishers for money and food, relying heavily on the kindness of friends and strangers.

Her plight is a painful reminder of how quickly fortunes can change. Once a symbol of hard work and success, Kagendo now clings to hope that generous Kenyans will step in to help her through this difficult chapter.
