Meru Student Who Pleaded for Help to Join Secondary School After Being Left by Mother Scores A

Oscar Kithinji, a bright and determined student from Mubukuro village in Mugwe Ward, has emerged as one of the top performers in the KCSE 2025 examinations, scoring an impressive Grade A.

Oscar’s achievement has touched many hearts, not only because of the excellent result but also due to the difficult circumstances he has overcome throughout his life.

At a very young age, Oscar was abandoned by his mother, leaving him in the care of his elderly grandmother, Ciangai. With limited resources and advancing age, Ciangai took on the responsibility of raising him, working tirelessly on local farms to meet his basic needs and keep him in school.

Despite the physical strain of farm work, she remained unwavering in her belief that education was the only path to a better future for her grandson. Every shilling she earned went toward Oscar’s schooling, food, and essentials.

Oscar’s academic journey faced a major hurdle before he joined secondary school when he lacked school fees to enroll at Meru School. In a moment that would change his life, his situation came to the attention of the community. Moved by his determination and potential, well-wishers came together to support him financially, ensuring he could continue his education.

That collective support has now borne fruit.

Oscar’s Grade A in KCSE 2025 stands as a powerful testament to years of hard work, discipline, and resilience. The result not only crowns his secondary school journey but also opens doors for higher education, bringing him closer to his dream of becoming a civil engineer.

Speaking after receiving his results, an emotional Oscar expressed deep gratitude to everyone who stood by him. He paid special tribute to his grandmother for her sacrifices and thanked members of the community whose support made his success possible.

Oscar Kithinji’s story is a reminder that with determination, support, and belief, even the most difficult beginnings can lead to extraordinary success.
