The leader of Home of Glory Joy Ministry, Man Kush, believes that Kenyan men should compensate their wives for their household responsibilities. He stated that he personally gives his wife around 30,000 Kenyan Shillings as a token of gratitude.
Last year, the High Court ruled that being a homemaker is a full-time, salaried position. Kush agreed with this decision, stating that taking care of children and maintaining a home is not an easy task. He suggests that men should appreciate their wives by giving them around 30,000 Kenyan Shillings.
However, Kush also mentioned that instead of treating their wives with love and respect, many Kenyan men mistreat them. He believes that many women are walking around as “walking corpses” due to the trauma caused by their husbands.
Kiss FM’s Kamene echoed Kush’s views, saying that housewives deserve no less than 400,000 Kenyan Shillings for their services. She emphasized that housewives make their husbands’ lives easier by ensuring comfort and previously shared her experience of delivering lunch to her ex-lover every day, calling it a “tiresome” and “demanding” job.
