Christine Adhiambo Muganda, a 24-year-old resident of Oyugis, has become the talk of the town after securing a remarkable KSh 2.3 million as the first-ever recipient of the SportPesa Mega Jackpot Bonus.
Currently pursuing a Health Records course at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Adhiambo achieved this impressive feat by accurately predicting the outcomes of 15 out of 17 matches. Despite her demanding academic schedule, she has been engaged in the strenuous task of selling charcoal to finance her education.
The news of her jackpot win reached her through a text message, marking a moment of exhilaration in her life. This unexpected windfall has proven to be a game-changer for the hardworking KMTC student, alleviating her financial burdens.
Adhiambo, in a humble recount of the events, confessed that she had not been closely following the games until her husband informed her. The following day, a congratulatory message from SportPesa officially confirmed her status as a millionaire.
Recalling the day she placed her bet, Adhiambo shared, “I placed my bet the previous morning while praying for good tidings on the way to church. It was a pleasant surprise to receive the message.”
Expressing gratitude for the newfound financial stability, Adhiambo perceives the prize money as a doorway to new opportunities. Undeterred by the recent success, she has already set her sights on the next challenge — winning the Mega Jackpot, an impressive KSh 346 million prize.
“Now that I have received my cheque, I will go back and plan the best way to use the cash. I won’t stop playing,” she added with enthusiasm.
Actively involved in SportPesa since January 2023, the soft-spoken student views this victory as a testament to her perseverance and strategic approach to the game.
