A family from Kitui County is asking the government to help them bring home the body of their daughter, Caroline Wambui, who passed away in Saudi Arabia.
According to the family, Caroline had traveled to the Middle East in search of job opportunities. She had been working there for a while before they received the heartbreaking news of her passing.
The family says they are struggling to raise the money needed to transport her body back to Kenya. They are appealing to both the national and county governments, as well as well-wishers, to assist them during this difficult time.
Caroline’s relatives describe her as a hardworking and determined young woman who left home with hopes of building a better future for herself and her family.
They hope the government can intervene to speed up the repatriation process so they can give their daughter a proper burial.
Many Kenyans continue to seek jobs abroad due to the high unemployment rates in the country. While some find success, others face challenges, especially in regions like the Middle East where labor rights and conditions have been a concern.
The family says they are waiting for further communication from relevant authorities and are praying for support from well-wishers and the government to bring Caroline home.
