Kiambu County was engulfed in grief as residents, relatives, and church members gathered to mourn a family that was wiped out in a tragic road accident at Karai.
The emotional burial ceremony was marked by tears, prayers, and deep silence as the community came together to support a young girl, Claire Wairimu, who is the only survivor of the deadly crash that claimed the lives of her entire immediate family.
The accident took the lives of Claire’s father, Catechist James Njoroge Kabari, her mother Teresia Njoroge, and her two younger brothers, Mike and John.
The family was travelling together when the tragic incident occurred, leaving Claire as the sole survivor.
News of the accident shocked many people across Kiambu and beyond, especially members of the church where James served faithfully for many years.
Due to her tender age and the emotional weight of the loss, Claire was unable to speak during the burial. Instead, she wrote a touching tribute that was read aloud by a family representative.
Her words deeply moved mourners, with many breaking down in tears as they listened.
In her tribute, Claire described her parents as loving, caring, and selfless.
She recalled how her father always encouraged her to pray, work hard in school, and treat others with kindness and respect.
She remembered her mother as a source of comfort and strength, saying she always made sure her children felt safe and loved.
Claire also shared memories of her two brothers, describing them as playful, joyful, and full of life.
She thanked her parents for the sacrifices they made to provide for their family and guide their children on the right path.
Her message reflected not only pain and loss but also gratitude for the love and guidance she received from her family.
Church leaders who spoke during the ceremony praised the late James Njoroge for his dedication to serving God and the community.
