Police have arrested a Kenyatta University student accused of sending inappropriate “view once” content to the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret.
According to a police report filed at Kasarani Police Station, Prof. Margaret lodged a complaint last week after receiving repeated harassment from an unknown phone number. The VC told investigators that the number had been sending her unsolicited explicit material through social media platforms.
Detectives traced the phone number to a student at Kenyatta University, leading to his arrest. The suspect is now in custody as investigations continue to establish his motive and whether he acted alone.
University officials have condemned the act, terming it as not only disrespectful but also a violation of personal dignity. They emphasized that such behavior tarnishes the image of institutions of higher learning and warned students to be cautious about their digital conduct.
Police say the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
