Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has captured the hearts of many after responding to a viral story involving a determined grandmother who offered six chickens to a school as part of her grandchildren’s fees.

The elderly woman, identified as Consolata Aduya from Karachuonyo, showed up at Adiedo Mixed Secondary School in Homa Bay County carrying six chickens. She hoped they would help reduce the hefty Ksh 245,000 school fees for her grandchildren. Photos of her brave act quickly made rounds on social media, sparking emotional reactions and a national conversation on the challenges facing low-income families.

Kenyans from all walks of life expressed sympathy and concern, with many urging political leaders and well-wishers to intervene. The story highlighted the extreme sacrifices some guardians are forced to make to keep children in school.

Eric Omondi, known not just for his comedy but also his philanthropic efforts, took to his Facebook page to express his desire to assist the woman. He pleaded with the public to help him locate her, asking anyone with her contact information to get in touch.
