“karibu ziende zote” Bahati’s home raided after flaunting millions online: “ Kaa mbali na pesa yangu ama nikupige Risasi”

‎Kenyan musician Bahati is sounding the alarm after his home was reportedly broken into by armed intruders in the early hours of Friday, August 29 — just days after he and his wife, Diana Marua, showcased millions in cash on social media.

‎According to Bahati, the incident occurred between 4:27 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., when unknown individuals allegedly accessed his compound. While no injuries were reported, the break-in left the family shaken and raised serious concerns about their safety.

‎Taking to Instagram, Bahati issued a warning alongside a chilling message:
‎“Alert! Gangsters visited my home between 4:27 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Stay away from my money or else you’ll be shot dead.”

‎He later followed up with a formal plea directed at the Inspector General of Police, requesting enhanced security for his home and surrounding neighborhood.

‎“Dear Inspector General’s Office, I’m making a formal complaint. Please organize extra security for my family and neighbors. Our lives are in danger,” Bahati wrote.

‎To back up his claims, Bahati shared CCTV footage showing two unidentified men near his gate. One appears to be attempting to force it open while the other stands watch — adding visual weight to his security concerns.

‎The incident sparked online concern, with fans urging the artist to be more cautious, and many warning against the dangers of displaying large amounts of cash on social media. The raid happened only days after Bahati and Diana posted videos flaunting wads of cash, a move many now believe may have made them a target.

‎Accusations of Clout-Chasing After Broken Promise to Harambee Stars

‎Meanwhile, Bahati has also found himself in the spotlight for another controversy — his unfulfilled promise to reward Harambee Stars with KSh1 million following their historic 1-0 win against Morocco in the CHAN 2024 qualifiers on August 10, 2025.

‎Despite the team’s victory — achieved with only nine men — Bahati failed to deliver the promised reward. Critics accused him of clout-chasing, but he refuted the claims, stating that he had the money and shared a video flaunting KSh3 million in cash.

‎He cited personal reasons for the delay, claiming he was occupied with planning his son’s birthday and also said he couldn’t reach team officials to transfer the funds.
