Popular media personality Kamene Goro has responded to the backlash she received after advising young women in their 20s to explore their dating options before settling down. The 33-year-old’s comments, made during a live radio show, sparked heated online discussions.
“Your youth is a time to learn and grow. Get to know different people and experiences before you find the right one,” Kamene shared. “How would you recognize the right partner if you haven’t taken the time to understand what you truly value in a relationship?”
Her remarks drew mixed reactions, with some critics accusing her of encouraging irresponsible behavior. In response, Kamene came forward to set the record straight, emphasizing that her message had been misunderstood.
“I think my comments were blown out of proportion,” she said. “What I meant was that young women should take time to date responsibly and learn about themselves. I never encouraged reckless behavior. There’s a big difference between dating to understand yourself and being careless with your choices.”
She stressed that her advice was rooted in self-discovery and making informed decisions. “I said date, not engage in inappropriate behavior. I believe it’s important to meet different people to know what suits you. Let’s not twist the message.”
Kamene concluded by encouraging respectful dialogue and understanding rather than jumping to conclusions based on snippets of conversation.
