Kama Boyfriend Yako Hakupei More Than 100K a Month, Wewe Ni Takataka” – Kenyan Prince Lectures Ladies

A Kenyan social media influencer popularly known as Kenyan Prince has sparked heated debate online after making controversial remarks about relationships and financial expectations. Speaking during a recent live session, the outspoken personality claimed that any man who gives his girlfriend less than Ksh100,000 monthly does not truly value her — and that women who accept less are “takataka.”
“If your boyfriend can’t give you more than 100K a month, he’s wasting your time. You’re settling for less. You deserve a man who can maintain your lifestyle,” said Kenyan Prince, in his bold statement that has since gone viral.

The influencer went on to lecture women, saying they should raise their standards and only date men who can meet their “financial worth.” He argued that relationships should not just be about love but also about provision and comfort.

However, his comments drew mixed reactions from Kenyans online. While a few agreed that men should take financial responsibility in relationships, the majority accused him of promoting materialism and unrealistic expectations.

One user wrote, “These are the kind of statements destroying young people. Not everyone earns that much, and love isn’t about money.” Another added, “So now love is a salary? What about respect, loyalty, and understanding?”

Despite the backlash, Kenyan Prince remained unapologetic, insisting that he was simply “telling the truth” and encouraging women not to settle for “broke men.”
The viral clip has reignited the age-old debate about money and relationships in Kenya — whether financial support defines love, or whether such expectations are setting unhealthy standards for modern dating.
