Gichugu village, Maragua-Murang’a County is engulfed with sorrow after one of their own was found dead inside a well.
It is reported that the man, Mbau had gone missing for a week and the family had reported to Maragua police station.
According to Gichugu residents, the body was found by an elderly woman who had gone to fetch water for breakfast.
“I had gone to fetch water. I dipped my bucket and hit a hard thing. Moments later, a human head popped out and then the resp part of the body floated,” the lady said.
“I got shocked and screamed for help and that’s when other residents came to see what was happening,” she added.
The body which appeared bruised got residents speculating that the man could have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the well.
The man’s body has since been transferred to the Murang’a Level 5 hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
