“I Used To Cry Going To Work Asubuhi” Why Kamene Goro Quit Kiss FM

Kamene Goro, formerly associated with Radio Africa’s Kiss FM, has clarified that she did not face termination from her position earlier this year. Instead, she revealed that her contract had naturally reached its expiration, with the option for renewal on the table. Despite this opportunity, Kamene made the decision to decline the renewal due to the adverse impact the job had on her health.

During an interview with Tuco Extra, Kamene explained the circumstances, stating, “By the way, nilijitoa (I resigned). My contract was set to conclude on the 28th or 29th of January, and in the preceding December, discussions had commenced regarding a potential renewal. I informed Pete Clair that I did not intend to extend my contract. I conveyed that I no longer found joy in my work, and it was negatively affecting my health to a significant extent. My ulcers were out of control; it was a terrible situation.”

Kamene recounted that her last encounter with ulcers occurred in January, coinciding with her departure from Kiss FM. She humorously mentioned the aftermath, saying, “Since then, even Gucci and the insurance company were like…wow.”

Emphasizing that she has never experienced termination throughout her entire professional career, Kamene asserted that she voluntarily left her previous workplaces. She clarified, “So no, I wasn’t fired. I expressed my decision not to renew the contract, and they agreed. I believe that’s when they began discussions with Sheila. You can even find my contract out there; you can check the commencement date and end date. For those speculating that I had been fired, no, throughout my professional existence, I have never faced termination. My health was at its lowest point for the longest time. I used to cry going to work in the morning.”
