The Kinyozi business in Kenya has grown steadily over the years, becoming one of the most reliable ventures for entrepreneurs. After all, grooming is a basic need — people must get their hair done regularly.
One Kenyan who has tapped into this opportunity is Nicholas Nyandae, a Nairobi-based barber who runs a high-end Kinyozi in Westlands. His barber shop offers a wide range of services such as haircuts, dreadlocks maintenance, scrubbing, and other grooming packages tailored for both men and women.
According to Nicholas, the business is highly profitable. On a good day, he makes about Ksh.8,000, and even on slower days, he still takes home at least Ksh.6,000. This translates to an impressive monthly income of over Ksh.200,000.
He pays a monthly rent of Ksh.60,000 for the shop, but says it’s manageable since his earnings comfortably cover it.
While the business has its fair share of challenges — like competition and occasional low seasons — Nicholas believes that success in the Kinyozi industry comes down to one thing: providing quality services that keep clients coming back.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, this could be the sign to consider grooming as a serious business opportunity.
