Pastor Victor Kanyari, once a household name in Kenya’s televangelism scene, gained widespread attention years ago due to a controversial exposé that questioned his methods of ministry. Before that spotlight, Kanyari had built a significant following and was widely known for his “Seed of 310” initiative, where followers were encouraged to contribute Ksh.310 in exchange for prayers and blessings.
In a recent interview on Kikuyu Nation TV, Pastor Kanyari opened up about that phase of his life, acknowledging that the campaign significantly boosted his financial status. According to him, the contributions from well-wishers and followers sometimes totaled between Ksh.700,000 to Ksh.1 million daily, translating to an estimated monthly income ranging from Ksh.21 million to Ksh.30 million.
Despite facing public scrutiny and taking a low profile for a while, Pastor Kanyari has since returned to active ministry. He currently leads a new church with a congregation of over 2,000 members and continues to engage with a digital audience, especially on TikTok, where he shares his messages and reaches a younger generation.
His ability to bounce back and adapt to modern platforms highlights his resilience and continued relevance in Kenya’s religious landscape.
