Renowned TikToker Sueh Owino has captured the hearts of online audiences with her recent culinary escapades that set the internet abuzz.
In the majority of her videos, Sueh, a cooking virtuoso, documents herself preparing meals for her husband. In her latest endeavor, she dedicated an impressive 29 hours to craft a visually enticing dish that left viewers mesmerized.
Sueh’s youthful countenance, petite stature, reserved demeanor, and braces effortlessly reflect her vibrant spirit. While she remains discreet about her exact age to avoid judgment, she did reveal that she is in her early twenties.
“I’ve been married for less than three years now, and that’s when I started cooking for my husband every day,” Sueh shares with a smile. “I want to start off by saying that submission is not slavery.”
According to Sueh, her actions are rooted in respect and the fulfillment of her Christian duties as a wife.
“The Bible says a wife must submit to her husband, and in return, the husband must love his wife. It’s a partnership where both sides uphold their end of the bargain. For me, that means cooking and ironing every day, among other tasks. It’s as simple as waking up and doing what I’m supposed to be doing – nothing more, nothing less.”
A glimpse at her TikTok page reveals Sueh’s unwavering commitment to culinary excellence. From international dishes like pasta and spaghetti to local delicacies such as matumbo (tripe) and traditional cow hooves, Sueh showcases her kitchen prowess.
Sueh emphasizes that pleasing her husband’s palate doesn’t necessitate a culinary extravaganza every day. Surprisingly, his favorite meals are various potato preparations – fries, wedges, garlic chips, and more.
While Sueh enjoys experimenting with intricate recipes, she clarifies that her husband did not mandate such culinary endeavors before they tied the knot.
“It’s not something my husband requires. It’s something I decided after reading the Bible. My mom did the same thing too. I think men have their preferences, and if they want a wife with Christian values who can handle daily chores without fancy nails and makeup, we should let them have it.”
Sueh’s unexpected rise to TikTok stardom began with innocuous videos showcasing her domestic duties, sparking a nationwide dialogue on gender roles and our generation’s stance. Addressing criticisms, Sueh questions, “Why are people offended? It’s me who’s cooking for my husband. You can do the same for your own spouse. Many women are already doing it; they just don’t show it on social media.”
A typical day for Sueh involves ironing her husband’s clothes, preparing a chosen breakfast, managing her duck farm, and crafting a delightful dinner. Amidst this, she still manages to create content for her growing fanbase.
Her newfound fame has opened doors to exciting business opportunities. Sueh now offers meal plans and sells her line of cooking utensils. Her supportive husband actively participates in running their duck farm, showcasing Sueh’s transformation into a bona fide businesswoman.
When asked about starting a family, Sueh expresses her traditional values, stating, “I can’t say for sure until I’m pregnant or until we have our children, but I’ll definitely try to. I hold traditional values close to my heart, and I still believe that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”
