How To Join Wells Fargo In Kenya As A Security Guard

Wells Fargo is one of the leading security companies in the East African region. The security firm has been in operation since 1977. 

According to the company website, Wells Fargo provides security to over 80% of banks in Kenya. The company expanded in 2003 to offer courier services through its sister company, Fargo Courier. 

So what are the requirements to join Wells Fargo? 

Qualifications:

  • KCSE mean grade of D+ 
  • Must be able to communicate in English (Reading and writing) 
  • Height 5’9 for men and 5’8 for women 
  • Must be between 22 and 40 years old

Documents to be availed

  • Identity Card. 
  • KCSE Certificate 
  • Secondary school leaving certificate. 
  • Original Certificate of good conduct
  • Handwritten application letter addressed to the HR Manager
  • Three colour passport size photographs- not more than six months old.
  • National Identity Card original and two photocopies
  • Form 4 KNEC/KCSE Certificate; original and a photocopy
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate; original and a photocopy
  • Form 4 Result Slip; original and a photocopy
  • Other academic and professional certificates; original and copies (Optional)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct (not more than 6 months from date of issue), original and a photocopy or receipt/invoice to prove you have booked the certificate.
  • National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Card, original and a photocopy
  • National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), original and a photocopy
  • Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN) Certificate, original and a photocopy
  • Original letter from Chief/Assistant Chief from your rural home with mailing address (include codes) and telephone contacts.
  • Originals & Photocopies of Recommendation Letters or Certificate of Service from Former Employers if you have worked anywhere before.
  • Letters from three referees with their full addresses and telephone contacts; original (Include postal codes- Not relatives, Government Officers or our employees)
  • Detailed sketch maps to your residences; rural and urban, original
  • Valid Bank Account, Account Number and Branch

The guards undergo training that meets international standards. The guards are permanent employees who are continuously trained and insured. 

According to Wells Fargo Ltd website, the firm uses an independent local firm to run background checks and vet all individuals before they are absorbed. 

Guards undergo training at their training school and annual refresher courses are mandatory. They are also trained in first aid, fire detection, evacuation procedures and crime prevention.
